Hello, my name is Sandra Roxas. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor specializing in helping you navigate life’s difficulties with depression, anxiety, substance dependence issues and trauma. I have helped a variety of individuals reach their life and therapy goals over the past 20 years which has caused me to be a firm believer that therapy should be a collaborative supportive space where you are able to safely express yourself. Finding your place in the world can be challenging. I believe my years of experience as a certified rehabilitation counselor gives me unique skills in helping you gain clarity on your strengths, identity, and overall purpose. My approach in therapy is to focus on a holistic approach. I work with your body, mind and soul using Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, expressive art therapy, and narrative therapy. When I‘m not in the office, I enjoy working with ceramics, clay, remodeling my home, and traveling with my two dogs and husband. I look forward to helping you reach your goals in navigating through your depression, anxiety, substance use/abuse, and trauma.
I have over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through addiction and recovery, and 32 years of personal sobriety and recovery. My work focuses on helping people navigate substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges using evidence-based approaches like Motivational Interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, relapse prevention, and recovery models such as 12-Step and SMART Recovery.
